Let’s Do This Thing!

23 Nov

So, I’ve decided to be one of the crazies tomorrow and try to save a few dollars during those ridiculous “Doorbuster!” sales.  I’m planning on sneaking out of the house around 4:30 am while the kids and Andrew stay warm and cozy in bed.

I don’t have my hopes up or any expectations of actually getting the item I want that’s on sale – I’m just going to go there and be as mellow as I possibly can be and maybe even have a good laugh or two watching other people freak out over toys or electronics.   If I get what I wanted then cool.  If not, then at least I was entertained.

It will be the first time I ever witnessed the insanity of the “Morning After” in person.  I always just watched it on television (mostly through the newscasts I produced).  I remember having a range of opinions about what I saw.  Those people are nuts.  It kind of looks like fun.  Is it really worth it?  They were in line at what time?

I guess I’ll find out tomorrow  – dark and way too early in the morning!

Did you get any good bargains? My mom and I went out later in the afternoon. I've never been an early bird so you'll have to let me know if its worth it! I tried emailing you but I guess it was an old email address. Do you have a new one or is it easier emailing through this site?I hope you guys had a great Thanksgiving!Julie

Hi! I think about you all the time! I actually overslept (as Andrew and I both knew would happen) but still made it out of the house around 7:30 am. It wasn't so bad and I managed to get a few good deals. I would say it is worth it if you see something in the ad that you really want/need for someone else. It's not worth it to just go and shop for whatever during that time. There's just too many hardcore bargain hunters out then (and I wasn't one of them!). I'm not sure why our email didn't work. I'll send you one so that way you'll have it. I can't wait to see you over Christmas! We'll have to talk about when we can get together (with AND without the kids!)

I didn't get anything special really. It was just fun to go out – I only wish that I could have had someone experience it all with me. How pathetic does that sound?!?! Oh well!

Hey!Here is my email: jlhaas10@hotmail.com email me there anytime! My cell is 412-953-0511. I think about you all the time too, I really we wished we lived closer. Chris was talking with the guy we met in Chicago and they were trying to get an interview set up for Chris for a consultant job. He said that Chris could basically live anywhere in the US because the job is all traveling. I told Chris that we should move to Winder! But he got a job in PGH, less than 2 miles from our house. boo. We are hoping to come visit in July again. Hopefully Chris wont have to travel as much in July. Unless he is going somewhere awesome and I can go too! He did say that I am invited to their yearly conference in September. I think its going to be in San Diego.I've been thinking of some things to do while you are in WV. Do you guys ice skate? There is a rink in the middle of the city…Its not Rockefeller Center, but we do what we can here in PA. Theres a lot of restaurants around there as well. Chris doesnt ice skate so that idea may not fly with him. He is traveling pretty much up until Christmas Eve so I wouldnt have time to teach him either. We are always happy to stick around and play games and order pizza. We can always come to Weirton if its easier for you guys. I asked my Mom for Apples to Apples for Christmas. She likes that game too, so she'll probably get it for us! Chris also wants to get that movie trivia game that we played at your house, but we cant remember the name of it. If you remember which game it is, can you let me know the name? The object of the game was to collect cards that said producer, actor, etc. There were several things you could end up doing on your turn like drawing a movie title, saying things so your partner would guess all the names on the card before the time limit expired.Well let me know if you have a day in mind to hang out. I am sure its kinda hard to know that now! Do you know what day you are getting in and leaving? Does Nia worry about Santa being able to find her? Lets talk soon and see what plans we can make. Chris and I are both so excited to hang out with you guys!
